WE-ACTx For Hope and Partners Celebrate the Successful Completion of the BMZ Project in Karongi District

Karongi, Rwanda – WE-ACTx For Hope, in partnership with Gesundes Afrika and with funding from BMZ, has successfully completed a 2.5-year project aimed at supporting adolescent girls and young women in Karongi District.

The project focused on providing sexual and reproductive health services, including education on STIs, HIV prevention, family planning, and unwanted pregnancies, as well as vocational training and financial literacy to empower young women economically.

To enhance livelihoods, 28 sewing machines, 153 pigs, 48 goats, and 520 chickens were distributed to beneficiaries, equipping them with resources to build sustainable futures.

During the closing ceremony, Karongi District officials, security representatives (RNP, RDF, RIB), Kibuye Hospital leaders, sector executives, health workers, and implementing partners joined in celebrating the project’s impact. Officials commended the initiative for empowering young women and fostering economic resilience within the community.

As the project concludes, WE-ACTx For Hope reaffirms its commitment to continuing efforts in promoting health, education, and economic empowerment for young women in Rwanda.
